Founded in 1987 by president and owner Joel Nystrom, Pinnacle Roofing Systems has been providing expertise in commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing to business owners, property managers, and commercial tenants around the Twin Cities metro area for more than 30 years.

A Property Owner’s Perspective
In 1979 Joel began to acquire and manage investment properties. As a commercial building owner, Joel learned first hand the importance of and need for maintenance and timely repair of his property roofs – as well as the frustration involved in finding a roofing company that could be trusted to do the work well and with integrity. Joel’s understanding of roofing issues, materials, and construction continued to grow when he worked as a roofing sales consultant for a prominent Minneapolis Commercial roofing firm that he had chosen to service his own roofs. In this position, Joel dug in with a commitment to learn everything possible about the roofing industry, including what really works and what doesn’t work in commercial roofing.

Determined to create a roofing company dedicated to excellence in every way, Joel started Pinnacle Roofing Systems in 1987. Since that time, Pinnacle has been built on a stellar reputation, word-of-mouth referrals, and an increasing base of repeat customers, and now enjoys a solid place in the Twin Cities area commercial roofing market. In addition, Pinnacle Roofing Systems is the only contractor in the state of Minnesota to have been awarded the GenFlex MVP award for the quality of its work. A testimony to Pinnacle’s commitment to solving roof problems is its development of the Amalgamated™ Tapered Insulation System for roof replacement. In response to the predictable pattern of ponding water on aging flat roofs, Pinnacle developed a unique, multiple-slope tapered insulation system. Pinnacles exclusive Amalgamated tapered insulation system compensates for typical sagging that aging roof decks experience, yet allows for a more consistent thickness of insulation, and a more evenly distributed R-Value than a typical tapered insulation system.
